David Biedenbender was born in 1984 in Waukesha, Wisconsin and was raised in Arizona and Michigan. David's family first introduced him to music, through participation in their church and in their family choir, directed by his grandfather. David's interest and music was further sparked by collaboration in various rock and jazz groups and participation in his high school music program. Since that time, his primary musical mentors have included composers Bright Sheng, David R. Gillingham, José Luis-Maurtúa, Stephen Rush, conductor John Williamson, and tuba and euphonium player Mark Cox. His music has been performed by the Central Michigan University Symphony Orchestra, Central Michigan University Concert Choir, Interlochen Chamber Players, flutist Robert Hart, tuba player Mark Cox, soprano Cora Enman, and the Wisconsin Lutheran College Symphonic Band. David holds a Bachelor of Music degree in composition from Central Michigan University and has participated in summer music institutes at Interlochen and in Prague. He is currently working on a Master's degree in composition at the University of Michigan. He lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan with his wife, Angela.
